Terrace

Style, aesthetics and durability. A terrace made of burnt wood will not only look stylish, it will also be extremely resistant to environmental influences.
"

In the warmer months, the terrace becomes a place where we spend more time than at home – here we drink our morning coffee, have dinner with the family, and meet for cosy conversations with friends. Wood treated according to the unique Japanese wood burning technology “Yakisugi” (or “Shou Sugi Ban”) is the perfect choice for those looking for a natural, environmentally friendly, but at the same time stylish and long-lasting solution for their terrace.

Traditional Japanese woodworking technology, which has been around for hundreds of years, was introduced to protect wood from the elements. Burning shrinks the pores in the surface of the wood, making it stronger and more resistant. Wood treated in this way is less water-permeable, more resistant to fire, insects, rot and less prone to splitting or cracking. At the same time, it retains its characteristics, naturalness, pattern and colour. The colour of wood treated with this method is not affected by sunlight, humidity, walking, friction and other environmental influences. Even after a long time, the surface of the burnt wood remains smooth and less clinging to dirt, so cleaning your terrace will be easy. A stylish, easy-to-maintain burnt wood terrace is ideal for both natural surroundings and urban environments.

To preserve its beauty and ensure its longevity, all you need to do is to regularly oil the terrace with natural oils. Experts say that if properly maintained, burnt wood can last up to 100 years!

Work process

In the Yakisugi process, the wood is first burnt at high temperatures. The wood for the fence is burnt on both sides of the board. The burning gives the wood an exceptionally rich colour and brings out its distinctive texture. The wood is then brushed with special brushes to bring out its distinctive pattern. Dirt, fine burnt particles and dust are then removed. The final step is to coat the wood with a natural oil that does not contain any harmful substances. This treatment not only gives the wood an exceptional aesthetic appearance, but also provides effective protection against the effects of external factors (water, fire, UV rays, insects, rot). To ensure that the fence lasts longer, we use the most durable woods – spruce, pine and larch.
